Autodesk AI Lab — AI/ML Developer Intern

Integrated World Labs spatial AI and Gaussian-splat workflows into Maya while building multimodal, agentic AI experiences across the Autodesk platform.

Overview

Worked on Autodesk's AI and innovation team across product development and emerging-technology research, with a focus on making advanced AI capabilities practical and approachable inside existing creative workflows.

Following Autodesk's February 18, 2026 announcement of a $200 million strategic investment in World Labs, integrated World Labs spatial intelligence into Maya and prototyped an end-to-end Gaussian-splat workflow for generating, previewing, importing, and positioning AI-created 3D worlds.

Software Architecture

Built an in-Maya World Labs workflow that lets artists create 3D worlds from image or text inputs, preview generated panoramas, import Gaussian splats and collision meshes, and lock the Maya camera to the generated scene. The integration kept spatial-AI tooling inside the familiar Maya workspace to reduce setup and context switching.

Developed AI-powered experiences across the Autodesk platform by combining LLM reasoning with video and audio understanding, 3D generation, and Autodesk APIs. Built an Electron desktop application and agentic pipelines for generative scheduling, permit and location research, script and screenplay breakdown, and data prediction.

Contributed to Autodesk Assistant features and explored how multimodal models could make powerful Autodesk tools easier to discover and operate through natural interaction.

Results & Achievements

Delivered functional prototypes spanning Maya, Electron, agentic automation, and multimodal AI. Demonstrated the workflows to product managers and design leads to support product exploration and roadmap discussions.

Conducted customer exploratory studies, surfaced workflow pain points, and collaborated with UI/UX designers to turn research concepts into clearer product experiences.
